Welcome from the Head of School
Thank you for your interest in International School Ikast-Brande (ISIB).
We are a small school with a big heart. We are proud of our family atmosphere and the “We can do it!” ethos of independence and self-reliance that characterizes both our school and the local community in Ikast-Brande municipality. ISIB welcomes children aged 2-16, giving our school a cheerful, inclusive atmosphere in which children and adolescents learn, socialize and develop as a cohesive community. Being a small school enables us to give every child the individualized attention and approach that they need to flourish, academically and personally.
Our location in the heart of Jutland in Denmark means we are ideally located for Danish and expatriate families living across the region who want an international, English-medium education for their children. Ikast is well-served by motorway, rail and bus connections, so we are easily and swiftly accessible from Herning, Silkeborg, Århus and beyond.
ISIB provides the globally recognized Cambridge international curriculum, culminating in examinations for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSEs). These qualifications provide our graduate students with the keys to further educational and vocational success.
With every decision I make at the school, I like to ask myself, “What’s best for the students?” It is a pleasure to work alongside a team of teachers and support staff for whom this question is always paramount. The enthusiasm and talents of our teachers are reflected in our students’ love of learning, and their positive, confident attitudes. We are a happy school.
Thank you for visiting the International School Ikast-Brande website. We are proud of our small school’s big achievements. I look forward to welcoming you to the ISIB community!
