"Navigating the Nexus: Balancing AI Education Tools and Screen Time in Schools Amidst Emerging Concerns"

The conflict of Artificial Intelligence and screen time is now becoming an issue in education, recently the Danish government released some guidelines for schools use of screen time but without many specifics. In the USA a trial project by the well-known Khan Academy online group is being used to offer students online tuition of subjects in schools, (https://www.cbsnews.com/video/ai-education-tools-are-helping-students-learn-grow-and-gain-confidence/)  it alleviates teacher pressure but means students are on screen far more than normal.

Here then is the crux of the problem, when does screen time become too much even when its helping us learn? The staff have been reviewing a documentary called the Social Dilemma (https://www.thesocialdilemma.com/) which is a documentary about social media in society and especially how it is affecting our children. So should we define screen time as any computer screen whether phone, desktop pr laptop or should we break down the figures into positive and possible negative screen time.

It’s a question educators will struggle with for a long time but at home parents could consider what they believe is the right combination of work and pleasure on screens and whether each should be limited!
