Danish curriculum

At ISIB we offer two different levels for Danish classes.

Danish Literature
We offer Danish Literature lessons to pupils with spoken Danish at mother tongue level. We follow the guidelines set out in the Ministry of Education’s “Fælles Mål” for Danish. The final exam at the end of Secondary is “Folkeskolens Afgangsprøve for 9. klasse”.
All Danish mother tongue lessons, in both Primary and Secondary, have this common goal.
Danish as a Second Language
We also offer Danish as a Second Language lessons to pupils who do not speak Danish at Mother Tongue Level. We follow the guidelines set out in the Ministry of Education’s “Fælles Mål” for Danish as a Second Language.
The aim of the programme is to build up Danish speaking and listening skills. Pupils enter the programme at many different ages and levels.
After an initial assessment they will join the programme at their Danish speaking and listening level.
