Admission Policy
ISIB welcomes applications from all students seeking a school that prioritises excellent academic standards while nurturing individual skills and attributes. As English is the language of instruction, all students will receive appropriate support to develop and strengthen their English proficiency throughout their time at the school. t

In certain circumstances, a student may not be able to thrive at ISIB if staff resources, staff training or the physical environment are insufficient to meet the needs of the applicant. In such cases, the Head of School reserves the right to deny admission when the school cannot provide an environment in which the student is likely to be successful. Any decision to deny admission is signed by the Head of School.

Applicants are expected to provide accurate and honest information and disclose any previous assessments or known learning profiles. Failure to do so may result in an admissions denial or the withdrawal of an offer of enrolment.

Based on a student’s previous academic experience, pastoral requirements and ISIB’s assessment tools, the school will determine year group placement and any programme options that are in the student’s best interests. ISIB is committed to providing a purposeful and supportive educational journey for every student.

Any student considered capable of attempting one or more Cambridge IGCSE examinations will be encouraged and supported to do so. Decisions regarding whether a student is ready to complete the full suite of IGCSE examinations are made during the IGCSE years, in consultation with the family, and are informed by the student’s academic achievement, language acquisition, motivation and additional learning requirements.

The same principles guide the advice provided to parents of students registered for the Danish FP9 examination.
Placement

In line with global international school standards, placement is initially reviewed according to age, following the table below. During the final placement decision, ISIB will also be looking at a range of different variables including (but not limited to) academic achievement and pastoral requirements – in order to ensure your child succeeds.

Admissions Process

Step 1
If you are interested in a place for your child, please either contact our secretary, Henny Brayd, at office@isib.dk or book a tour through our Visit page.

Step 2
After you have taken a tour or attended an online meeting, the school may offer taster days so your child can experience the school first-hand.

Step 3
If your family decides to join ISIB, please complete our application form.
(An application form may be submitted at any stage of the process.)
Please note that not all applications can be accepted.

Step 4
If your child is offered a place following the application process and, where relevant, an interview or entrance assessment, we will provide an overview of the required payments. These include the registration fee, the first month’s tuition fees and a deposit.
The deposit is equal to two months’ tuition fees and will be returned when your child leaves ISIB.
All payments must be received before we can guarantee your child’s place.

Step 5
Your child’s year group placement is determined by several factors, including (but not limited to) age, academic achievement and pastoral requirements. As far as possible, children are placed with their chronological peers, unless there is a compelling reason to do otherwise. Final placement decisions are made by the Head of School.

Leaving the school

If your child will be leaving ISIB during the current academic year or will not be returning for the next academic year, please make sure to officially de-register. Visit the 'Leaving ISIB' page to find out more about this process.
