Laura Valle-Vilmand

Life Skills; Support Teacher

Laura was born in Brazil to a family of Argentinian and Italian descent. She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese and is currently mastering Danish.

In 2016, Laura came to Denmark through a cultural exchange program and quickly fell in love with the country. What began as a temporary stay soon became a long-term commitment, leading her to continue her education and build her life here. She first studied Service Economics before earning a bachelor’s degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Later, she expanded her academic background by obtaining a degree in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. In the past, she thought Spanish for Primary and Secondary, PSHE and was a homeroom teacher at our international school.

Inspired by her multicultural upbringing and educational experiences in Brazil, Argentina, and Spain, Laura was naturally drawn to working in an international environment. Joining the International School Ikast-Brande allowed her to combine her passion for languages, education, and intercultural understanding while sharing her own experiences of living abroad.
In her role, she embraces innovation every day, teaching Life Skills in Primary and Secondary, leading Y1 outdoor sessions, and providing teaching support across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary.

Laura lives near Herning with her Danish husband and their young daughter and son. Outside of work, she enjoys discovering new places in Denmark and exploring other countries through travel whenever she has the opportunity.
