What Is the UN Day of Conscience and Why Is It Important?

Today is the UN day of Conscience but what exactly is it?

The UN says ‘Conscience is a challenging and complex concept. It can be generally described as a person’s moral sense of right and wrong. It is also a guide to one’s behaviour. The personal ethics a person keeps to not steal from another or not cheat on an exam is a good example of conscience. In simple terms, it is the knowledge about ourselves.’

What does it mean to us?

As an international school it falls upon staff and students to understand right and wrong but not just here in Denmark, also from a global context. The lessons of Global Perspectives and debating ensure that we deliver our students the knowledge and experience to make good healthy decisions.

It’s part of our mission and incorporated in our lessons.
